Role purpose / summary
A Legacy System Discovery BA will be responsible for the acquisition and prioritisation of business requirements of legacy reporting systems sitting within Data Platform Services (DPS) of the client.
Key Skills/ requirements
A Legacy System Discovery BA will be responsible for the acquisition and prioritisation of business requirements of legacy reporting systems sitting within Data Platform Services (DPS) of the client.
- Support the work of DPS in developing solutions and roadmap for the migration of legacy reports
- Ensure that the content of the client business requirements are understood and communicated to all stakeholders
- Facilitate impacting and estimating process so that Capgemini commercial objectives can be met whilst meeting the client's business requirements.
Key Deliverables:
- Develop a Product Backlog that clearly articulates the client's business requirements and the plans for their delivery
- Documentation of the detail for how the business requirements will be delivered in the form of business rules
- Processes and documentation that clearly show the traceability of the requirements from inclusion in the Product Backlog through to their release.
- Work with Capgemini and DPS stakeholders to identify appropriate technology solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- To work with the client's Product Owners and ITDLs to understand the business requirements for legacy products supported by DPS and to document those requirements in a jointly owned Product Backlog.
- To elaborate the requirements in the Product Backlog through consultation with the client's end users and contributing technical teams to specify what needs to be built and tested in order to meet the business requirements.
- To support the Delivery Manager and Product Owner in the set-up of the delivery backlog to manage the build, test and release of the technical components.
- To communicate to the Data Team engineers and testers the high-level business requirements and the technical requirements to meet them so that they have the knowledge and confidence to pursue their work effectively and efficiently. To respond to engineers and testers queries as they progress to keep delivery on track and to ensure the business requirements are being met.
- To assist the Data Team Manager in the conduct of sprint ceremonies and the management of the delivery backlog.
- To assist the Engagement Manager and the Data Team Manager in the communication of progress and issues to the client's ITDL.
- To engage with teams other than the Data Team to whom the Lead BA is assigned to gather their contributing impacts into the clients deliverables so that their inputs are accounted for in the commercial agreements with the client and their delivery can be planned and monitored by the Data Team Delivery Manager.
