Job Title: Software Engineer (SC Cleared)
Location: Farnborough
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Rate: Up to 745 per day via an approved umbrella company
Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process
Our client, a leading organisation supporting maritime test and evaluation facilities, is hiring for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team in Farnborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to innovative projects focused on modernising systems through digital signal processing.
What you'll be doing:
Developing and integrating complex software systems for maritime test and evaluation facilities.
Supporting the design, development, testing, and delivery of digital signal processing solutions.
Collaborating effectively with stakeholders, customers, and colleagues across various platforms.
Managing change control and configuration processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Applying your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimise software solutions.
What you'll bring:
Strong problem-solving and engineering skills with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering complex software systems.
Proficiency in C++ and Linux environment development.
Knowledge of analogue-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analogue (DAC) converters and digital signal processing.
Effective communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Desirable skills include:
Experience in defence or related sectors.
Embedded software development for target hardware.
Familiarity with coding standards, static code analysis, and Agile practices such as Scrum, CI/CD, TDD, and BDD.
Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
4-7 years of software development experience across multiple programming languages.
