An opportunity has arisen for a Network Design Engineer to join a secure Defence and National Security programme, delivering medium and large scale network solutions across mission critical environments. This role is suited to a capable network professional who can design, implement, and support secure enterprise networks while working collaboratively across multi skilled teams.

About the Role - Network Design Engineer

• As a Network Design Engineer, you will design, configure, and deploy network solutions that meet business and technical requirements across secure environments.

• You will produce design documentation, support governance reviews, and provide hands on implementation and troubleshooting support.

• The role involves supporting project milestones, ensuring effective handover to service, and resolving complex network issues across multiple vendors and domains.

• You will work with stakeholders, assist with performance testing, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For - Network Design Engineer

• Strong experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies, with certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIS-ENT.

• Knowledge of routing protocols, VRFs, VPNs, IDS, IPS, and network security controls.

• Experience with F5, Cisco Secure Firewall, and Gigamon.

• Strong design and troubleshooting background across enterprise and multi vendor networks.

• Understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and data centre networking.

• Experience using tools such as Visio, SolarWinds, and Nagios.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to document solutions and collaborate with stakeholders.
