Job title: Tech Bar Engineer
Contract Length: Six Month
Location: Onsite London (X5 days week)
Clearance: You will be required to hold Home Office SC clearance / NPPV3 or to apply for it if successful for the role.
Tech Bar Engineer
You will be reporting to the Tech Bar Team Leader / Manager and will be required to assist in the ensuring the smooth running of the project using the following criteria as guidance.
The Tech Bar site team will be expected respond to user incident and any of the other sites 1 mile radius and occasionally support London HQ Tech Bar to fulfil Incidents and change requests, all within SLA.
You will be required to hold Home Office SC clearance / NPPV3 or to apply for it if successful for the role.
Skills preferred (training will be provided where necessary though ability in some of these areas is essential)
- Ability to support and diagnose problems on Android phones, Iphones, Laptops, Desktops, Video Conferencing Equipment and a number of peripherals that the HO provide to the user base.
- Ability to repair laptops and desktops.
- Excellent Admin skills to complete all relevant paperwork/databases.
- Knowledge of Service Now call handling system.
You will also need to demonstrate
- Being Security minded
- Good verbal and written communications.
- Create and maintain processes and work instructions as required
- You are able to function efficiently alone but also fit into a motivated and experienced team.
- You ensure that all call stacks for your sites are monitored at all times including lunch breaks.
- You escalate calls that are in danger of going over contractual target and escalate to Deskside Manager/Team leader if necessary
- You understand the importance of and ensure all VIP calls are dealt with and updated within the agreed timescales.
- You flag to the Tech Bar Manager/team leader any areas where targets are in danger of not being met.
- That all potential issues and problems are clearly communicated to the Tech Bar Manager/Team leader so he is aware of what is going on at all times.

- Performance Issues
- That all Service Now updates are completed in a timely fashion and meet the required guidelines and expectations.
- That the asset system is updated as per the contractual requirements and is accurate.
- That all goods are checked on receipt and placed in the store room labelled and asseted if necessary.
- Your objectives are met and that you have played your part in achieving any Team objectives
- All relevant administration is completed in a timely fashion - SST, sick certs, leave requests etc
- You identify and discuss areas for improvement with your Team Leader/Tech Bar Manager
- You identify and discuss potential risks with Team Leader/Tech Bar Manager
- You identify any cost saving opportunities/efficiencies
You will also be expected to manage your time to ensure that any tasks you are asked to deal with are completed. If there is any reason why this cannot happen then you will be expected to bring this to the Team Leaders/Tech Bar Managers attention and to discuss solutions.
