We have a central Security Transformation programme within Network Services unit which will be delivering common capability projects across the BT Group, including deliveries for our key networks such as the IPP (Internet & Peering platform) on which ~40% of the UK's broadband traffic traverses through. In order to do this effectively, we need diversity of thought, engaging leaders and problem solvers who can figure out how best to collaborate and drive their team to success by bringing our core assests into full compliance under the new legislation and transforming our network.
You will be personable, engaging and able to build brilliant relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. You will be working in a highly complex, fast paced environment where you will be responsible for creating and leading an integrated team to deliver end-to-end projects ensuring they have a valid business benefit, deliver on time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria from conception through to launch and transition into operations. You will manage a virtual team of up to 100 people, including a number of 3rd party Suppliers, providing strong leadership across a number of Projects, depending on size and complexity. You will have technical Business analysis experience to ensure requirements are captured across a variety of stakeholders. You will proactively solve conflict situations through problem-solving, negotiation, open communication and direct influencing. Your ultimate objective will be to drive successful security transformation across our technology, people and process using agile methodologies, allowing BT to continue providing the most secure and resilient network to all our customers, making us the most trusted connector of people, devices and networks.
Your accountabilities
- Leading - driving and Coordinating virtual teams (<100), working with external partners and suppliers, to deliver against business objectives.
- Influencing - Using business and domain expertise to affect project outcomes.
- Driving - E2E ownership of project. Ensure delivery to time, budget and quality as expected.
- Planning - E2E planning of projects, including resources, negotiating and securing resources as required. .
- Communicating - working across the stakeholder group, and up to Director level, visibly supporting the delivery, change and engagement for the workstream. Includes proactively taking accurate minutes and actions throughout discussions and following up with relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiating - Interlocking project with dependencies and dependant projects, securing prioritisation and alignment as required.
- Governing - responsible for supporting project governance, budget management (<£5m), risk, issue and change management for the entire project.
- Agility - working with teams using an Agile methodology to allow collaboration and realising value sooner.
- Collaborating - working across all design and delivery partners to produce coherent project outcomes
- Reporting - Provides reports to time and standard as directed by PMO, socialising within key stakeholder groups.
Skills required for the job
- Exposure to SIEM platforms, ideally Elastic
- Knowledge of data collection technologies such as Kafka and Logstash
- Ability to operate as a Technical PM, understanding engineering concepts and working closely with technical teams
- Analysis skills - requirements elicitation and gathering (business, technical/solution, functional and non functional) delivering use cases, persona mapping, user journey mapping whether supporting or directly or inputting into.
- Leadership Skills - Able to provide effective leadership to the project team, and take appropriate action when required.
- Communication Skills - Able to lead communication with stakeholders and work to drive strong, open and sustained communication channels both within the project team and with the wider stakeholder community. Up to 'Director of'.
- Negotiation skills - able to work with stakeholders to shape the project and proactively solve conflict situations through problem-solving, negotiation, open communication and direct influencing.
- Planning Skills - the ability to organize tasks in the right order, to hit the right outcome at the right time
- Budgeting Skills - able to proactively forecast and manage the project costs to forecasts, both Opex and Capex. Supporting programme finance management.
- An advocate of continuous improvement and ability to deliver.
- Industry recognised Project Management Qualification
- Demonstrate and be an advocate of agile methodologies.
- Qualifications in Agile methodologies and application across recent role would be an advantage.
- Security (infosec and cyber security) knowledge and experience would be an advantage.
