Project Manager
We are looking for talented Project Managers, ideally with consultancy experience, to join us at Expleo. This client-facing role will lead projects collaborating with our clients across a wide range of IT deliveries.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders, as well as internal and external teams.
You will be expected to be on-site with clients in Abroath 2 - 3 days per week or as the programme requires. We expect the minimum to be 2-3 days with expenses covered for time away.
Expleo works across multiple clients and industries, so there is an expectation that you will contribute to the continued growth of the Practice as time allows.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a diverse range of projects with a focus on exceeding client expectations, meeting deadlines, and managing costs efficiently-all while guiding and supporting the project team.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation in line with customer standards, covering budget oversight, labour planning, risk tracking, scheduling, open issues, change control logs, lessons learned, and final test results.
- Develop and update detailed timelines (using MS Project for more complex undertakings), clearly highlighting critical path dependencies for team and client awareness.
- Take ownership of project outcomes through strong leadership and day-to-day oversight.
- Work closely with clients to understand both commercial objectives and technical requirements.
- Pinpoint potential risks early and create mitigation strategies to ensure smooth delivery.
- Regularly update internal stakeholders and clients with clear, concise progress reports.
- Oversee and validate budgets to keep financials on track throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage scope, timeline, and budget changes by using costumer tracking tools to record requests, and apply the formal change management workflow to resolve them.
- Facilitate a project close-out review to reflect on successes and identify areas for future enhancement.
Qualifications
- Desirable Certifications: MAPM, PMP, Prince2
Essential skills
- Concept validation within budget
- Co-ordinate between all technical departments to ensure all aspects of the project are under control (design, software, electrical etc.)
- Ensure quality standards are maintained for all aspects
- Excellent client-facing skills
- Experience of working with Programme and Project managers in large deployments
- People management skills - the ability to lead and focus teams in complex projects
- Strong self-management - continuous performance is both an objective and a mind-set
- Desire to continue to build IT domain knowledge- tools, applications, platforms
- Desire to embrace and work withing new industries
- Microsoft Project
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for effectively interacting with clients
Experience
- Proven track record managing multidisciplinary projects in engineering and automation.
- Solid grasp of project planning tools and capital equipment systems.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience with contracts.
- Degree-level professional with natural project leadership skills.
- Communicates confidently across teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Highly organised, analytical, and effective under pressure.
- Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Builds lasting relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Creative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.
