Technical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead to join a dynamic team in Gaydon, Warwickshire, on a contract basis, focused on developing cutting-edge data processing tools for vehicle steering and handling performance. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of vehicle dynamics by enhancing the toolset used to characterise both internal and competitor vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and enhancement of data processing tools for steering and handling performance.
• Collaborate closely with vehicle dynamics experts to translate technical requirements into robust software solutions.
• Architect new tools and improve existing ones to a professional standard.
• Manage the product backlog in Jira, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and strategic objectives.
• Develop and maintain a clear product roadmap and software architecture vision.
• Plan and estimate development tasks using Agile methodologies.
• Contribute to automated testing frameworks to ensure reliable deployment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and retrospectives, promoting continuous improvement.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain close collaboration across teams.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• Strong programming expertise, ideally in MATLAB (OOP and TDD experience required).
• Proven experience in software architecture design and leading development projects.
• Advocate of Agile methodologies and experienced SCRUM practitioner.
• Proficient in GitLab, MATLAB, and Jira.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently.

Desirable:

• Understanding of vehicle dynamics principles.
• Experience with data processing tools such as Prosig DATS, LMS.
• Full UK or equivalent driving license.

Qualifications:

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics).
