Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

£70,000 - £80,000 | UK Remote (with 1-2 days/month client travel)Security Clearance (SC) eligible required

A leading UK technology consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join their cloud engineering practice, delivering large-scale, security-critical Azure platforms for enterprise and public-sector clients.

This is a hands-on, senior engineering role focused on building highly automated, secure and scalable Azure environments using modern DevSecOps and GitOps practices.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and operating Azure DevOps platforms and CI/CD pipelines
• Automating build, test and deployment workflows across complex cloud estates
• Implementing Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform and ARM
• Driving DevSecOps best practice across delivery teams
• Supporting GitOps-driven continuous delivery models
• Improving platform reliability, security, observability and performance
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring within delivery teams
• Working directly with client stakeholders in regulated environments

What you'll bring

• Strong commercial experience with Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts)
• Proven delivery of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience (Bicep / Terraform / ARM)
• Solid scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash and/or Python)
• Experience with containers and Kubernetes (AKS)
• Understanding of cloud-native and serverless Azure services
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (Azure Monitor, App Insights, Grafana, Prometheus etc.)
• Exposure to GitOps, secure cloud design and regulated delivery environments
• Comfortable working in client-facing delivery roles
• Nice to have
• Azure certifications (AZ-400, AZ-500, AI-102 etc.)
• Experience with API Management, DevTest Labs, App Services, VM platforms
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2 etc.)
• Experience introducing AI-driven automation into DevOps pipelines

Security clearance

-Due to the nature of client work, candidates must be eligible for SC clearance, including:

-Continuous UK residency for the last 5 years

-Right to work in the UK

Package & working model

-£70,000 - £80,000 base salary

-Fully remote UK working

-Travel to client sites 1-2 times per month

-Work on large-scale, technically complex Azure programmes

-Strong technical culture with genuine engineering ownership
