Job Description
Role PurposeThe SAP Technical Delivery Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective SAP changes aligned to Working Group roadmaps, while ensuring the effective run and maintenance of services.The role drives DevOps ways of working, maximises team throughput, and ensures continuous improvement across delivery, tooling, and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery & ExecutionManage the delivery of tactical SAP changes within the backlog, ensuring alignment to agreed prioritiesTranslate user stories into detailed delivery plans through to early life supportFacilitate estimation, planning, and scheduling of work to ensure predictable deliveryEnsure system changes are delivered as planned and committedRemove blockers and manage dependencies to support timely deliverySupport PI planning cycles, ensuring plans are well-defined and capacity is optimisedDevOps & Agile LeadershipPromote and embed DevOps principles: Collaboration and shared ownershipCustomer-centric decision makingAutomation and efficiencyContinuous learning from failurePerformance-focused, generative cultureMetrics-driven improvementImplement and continuously improve Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)Facilitate Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews)Drive cross-functional collaboration and transparency across all workTeam Performance & OptimisationMaximise resource utilisation to increase throughput and business valueTrack and improve key delivery metrics (e.g. lead time, cycle time, sprint velocity, technical debt, unplanned work)Conduct Lean analysis (e.g. Value Stream Mapping) to remove inefficiencies and improve flowFoster accountability and high performance within the teamBuild a culture of continuous improvement and learningStakeholder ManagementCollaborate with Product Leads and stakeholders to align PI objectives with business goalsBuild strong relationships across business, IT, suppliers, and partnersCommunicate delivery performance and risks to senior stakeholdersEnsure user needs are understood and met across all stages of deliveryGovernance & StrategyEnsure all DevOps activities align with organisational strategy and policiesProvide specialist advice on information management and collaborative workingMaintain compliance with governance, quality, and security standardsInfluence decisions relating to scope, priorities, and resource allocationContinuous Improvement & Capability BuildingIdentify and implement improvements in processes, tools, and ways of workingDevelop reusable delivery assets (e.g.
