AI Integration Engineer
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an AI Integration Engineer to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London or Edinburgh
Our client is looking for a hands-on AI Integration Engineer to lead the design and deployment of intelligent agent solutions using Microsoft Co-pilot Studio and the Power Platform across enterprise systems. This role blends technical depth with strategic thinking, focusing on secure, scalable, and compliant AI automation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered agents using Co-pilot Studio, embedded within Power Apps and Power Automate workflows
- Integrate enterprise systems such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics, SharePoint and Dataverse using Power Platform connectors as well as custom APIs
- Develop and maintain custom connectors to enable seamless data flow, interacting between agents and external services
- Apply governance frameworks to ensure secure, compliant, and auditable AI deployments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, architects, and developers to align solutions with strategic goals
- Support conversational AI features, including natural language understanding and multi-turn dialogue flows
- Track usage and feedback, contributing to continuous improvement, performance tuning, and innovation across automation initiatives
- Explore and test GenAI and LLM capabilities, enhancing user experience as well as automation
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an AI Integration Engineer
- Proven experience with Microsoft Co-pilot Studio and Power Platform such as Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse
- Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API authentication, and data governance
- Experience with custom connector development, Azure Logic Apps, or Azure Functions
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, including LLMs, agentic workflows, and prompt engineering
- Solid programming skills in PowerShell, JavaScript, or Python
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-100 and PL-400
- Experience with AI safety testing, compliance frameworks, and cloud security
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 Agents SDK or similar agent orchestration tools
- Background in consulting or client-facing technical roles
