Power Platform Developer

About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Power Platform Developer to work for our client within the Finance sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to support with the development and support of low code BI Business applications using Power platform, M365, C#, JavaScript. You will collaborate closely with business users and stakeholders to understand requirements, design innovative solutions, and bring them to life through development, testing, and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power Apps applications using Canvas or Model-driven app approach.
  • Integrate Power Apps applications with Microsoft services such as Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Utilize Common Data Service (CDS) or other data sources to efficiently manage and store application data.
  • Build and maintain plugins & PCF for PowerApps
  • Implement best practices, standards, and guidelines for Power Apps development to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues and bugs in applications, providing ongoing technical support and maintenance.
  • Assist in creating comprehensive documentation and training materials for end-users and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams on Power Platform projects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • This role also requires following the Development Teams “Change Management Control procedures” to get proper and appropriate approvals prior to production updates.
  • Assist in supporting of the remaining applications in Lotus Notes(HCL notes)

About You

  • Experience in application development, with significant hands-on experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Strong expertise in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps), Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint and the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in C#, JavaScript and PowerApps Component Framework (PCF), with experience developing custom plugins and extensions.
  • Experience working with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including database design, SQL scripting, troubleshooting and data integration.
  • Proven ability to engage with business stakeholders, gather and analyse requirements, and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting production applications within a controlled enterprise environment, including incident resolution, change management and release processes.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Lotus Notes (HCL Notes) application support and migration projects.
  • Experience working within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based support and service management practices.
