Senior Agile Delivery Manager
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Senior Agile Delivery Manager to support a Systems Integrator / Consultancy client's large portfolio of work with and end Public Sector client. This role operates across concurrent Agile delivery teams, providing strategic leadership across multiple deliveries, services, and products to ensure consistent, predictable, and high-quality outcomes aligned to client objectives. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects for extensions due to the clients roadmap, and will be a hybrid (2-3 days a week) role that will be based in Telford with free parking on site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping agile delivery approaches, enforcing governance frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across complex engagements. This is a senior leadership role, suited to someone experienced in overseeing large-scale agile transformations, and leading recovery of complex or at-risk deliveries.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring delivery structures, resource strategies, and governance are aligned to both organisational and client priorities while building high-performing delivery teams and future capability. You will also be working closely with Project Managers, who retain overall P&L accountability.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight across concurrent agile deliveries, ensuring coherent delivery governance, standards, and controls
- Act as senior escalation point for critical risks, issues, change control, and cross-delivery dependencies
- Lead recovery of complex, at-risk, or underperforming deliveries to restore confidence
- Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, and commercial health
- Ensure effective resource allocation, capacity planning, and long-term strategic resourcing
- Build trusted senior client relationships, aligning delivery strategy to client priorities and growth opportunities
- Communicate delivery performance, progress, and risks clearly to executive and senior stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and develop delivery managers, driving capability uplift, succession planning, and continuous improvement
Must-Have:
- Proven experience leading large, complex or hybrid concurrent agile deliveries
- Strong leadership and coaching capability with experience developing senior delivery professionals
- Advanced stakeholder and client management skills at senior level
- Expertise in delivery methodologies (Agile, Lean, and hybrid approaches)
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and forecasts
- Experience in governance, risk management, and delivery recovery
- Excellent communication, influencing, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated track record in driving continuous improvement at scale
Nice to Have:
- Experience working within a Systems Integrator or consultancy environment
- Exposure to multi-client or enterprise-level delivery environments
- Experience aligning delivery strategy to business growth objectives
- Formal certifications in Agile, programme, or portfolio management (e.g. SAFe, MSP, PMP)
