Senior Commercial and Contract Manager

About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Commercial and Contract Manager to work for our client within the Public Sector (Central Government) sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Croydon, Salford or Liverpool.

Our client is transforming how it delivers management information services. This role leads and supports MI discovery projects, managing the end-to-end discovery process for new programmes while overseeing supplier contracts and performance, ensuring reporting solutions align with business priorities, user needs and the wider MI strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the MI Discovery process across new programmes, scoping requirements, understanding delivery options and defining delivery plans.
  • Create delivery plans for MI projects including resourcing costs, risk assessment and delivery activities.
  • Support the end-to-end lifecycle of supplier contracts, preparing reporting on contract performance, supplier metrics and on/offboarding.
  • Investigate operational and business needs, define the problem to be solved and recommend service improvements and business solutions.
  • Elicit, analyse and validate business requirements and user needs, creating acceptance criteria (often using Behavioural Driven Development).

About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading Discovery phase projects, business analysis or MI/reporting initiatives.
  • Experience of supplier contract management and performance reporting, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Adaptable in shifting and uncertain environments; BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
  • SC clearance is essential (ideally already held).
