Senior IT Delivery Manager

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior IT Delivery Manager to work for our global Systems Integrator client. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend.

We are seeking experienced IT Delivery Managers to manages medium to large teams, coordinating product and service delivery across multiple projects to achieve business outcomes. The role includes operational support for live services and alignment with standardised delivery structures and roles, driving quality, efficiency, and predictability, maintaining strong control over projects and services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to/lead specific deliveries within significant programmes of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery outcomes for assigned teams, ensuring services and projects meet agreed cost, quality, and timeline commitments, proactively managing and communicating variances.
  • Enforce delivery standards and best practices, including agile and modern delivery methods, across project and business-as-usual (BAU) work.
  • Collaborate with project and service managers to support planning, integration, and dependency management, surfacing risks and constraints early.
  • Manage and control budgets, forecasts, and actuals, ensuring financial commitments are met and issues are escalated appropriately.
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management, ensuring alignment with governance, contractual requirements, and service management processes.
  • Protect live services by ensuring effective monitoring, resilience, and incident response, including rapid mobilisation for high-priority incidents.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting and updates, raising risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies to support informed decision-making.
  • Lead and develop delivery teams by managing capacity, supporting people management, enabling skills development, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
About You
  • Proven experience in a senior IT delivery management role, leading medium to large teams across multiple projects and live services.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supporting performance, development, and succession planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical, delivery, and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivery methodologies, including agile and lean practices, within complex delivery environments.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget control, cost management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, issues, dependencies, and change across both project-led and BAU delivery.
  • Experience supporting live service operations, including incident and problem management in operational environments.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and capacity management skills, with a track record of driving continuous improvement and delivery best practice.
