Senior Infrastructure Project Manager- Cheshire
About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with strong extension potential and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a critical technical transformation programme focused on upgrading a strategic platform that supports millions of customers. The successful candidate will oversee complex infrastructure and technology upgrade initiatives, including operating system changes, software upgrades, platform rehosting and cloud migration activities. This is an excellent opportunity to work with senior stakeholders and technical SMEs to deliver business-critical change within a large-scale enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex technical infrastructure and upgrade projects across multiple business areas.
- Lead the full project lifecycle from initiation and planning through to implementation and deployment.
- Coordinate technical teams, SMEs, third-party suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
- Establish and maintain project governance, risk management and financial controls.
- Deliver infrastructure-related change initiatives including operating system upgrades, software upgrades and platform rehosting activities.
About You
- Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure and technical change projects, ideally within Financial Services.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure environments and the relationship between operating systems, databases and applications.
- Experience leading technical teams through large-scale upgrade and migration programmes while minimising business disruption.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior leaders and executives.
- Strong project governance, planning, budgeting, risk and delivery management capabilities.
- Demonstrable experience managing operating system changes, software upgrades, cloud migration or platform rehosting projects.
- Minimum 8+ years' experience in Project Management, Infrastructure Transformation or Technical Change Delivery.
