Solution Architect
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Solutions Architect to work for our client within the Higher Education sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid (2 days per week in the office) role that will be based in White City, London (White City Professional Services Hub).
Our client is seeking a Solutions Architect to support a major digital transformation programme focused on improving the end to end student experience and modernising core platforms across the student lifecycle. Sitting within the client’s ICT function, you will provide solution architecture leadership across a broad portfolio of student lifecycle, digital education and engagement initiatives, including student recruitment and admissions, enrolment, student administration and case management, health and wellbeing, learning and assessment, digital education, library, alumni and CRM. This is a backfill for an existing architect who has moved onto a major ERP programme, so there is a live and varied portfolio of work ready to pick up, with a strong focus on Microsoft Dynamics based platforms and joining up complex journeys, processes, systems and data.
Responsibilities:
- Lead solution architecture across student lifecycle and digital education platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, technology standards and the client’s digital strategy.
- Develop and maintain end to end views of student, learner and alumni journeys, mapping processes, data flows and service interactions to simplify and improve them.
- Provide architectural leadership across Microsoft Dynamics based solutions, advising teams on platform capabilities, integration approaches and future roadmap opportunities.
- Produce clear architecture artefacts, diagrams, reference architectures and service blueprints that both technical and non technical audiences can understand.
- Work closely with Directors, Enterprise Architects, Heads of Product, delivery teams and faculties, facilitating workshops and building consensus across varied stakeholder groups.
- Strong solution architecture experience designing complex digital or enterprise solutions within large, diverse or federated organisations.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms and associated integrations.
- Proven ability to map and improve complex end to end business processes and customer or learner journeys.
- Skilled at producing architecture artefacts and visual models that can be understood by both technical and non technical audiences.
- Comfortable working at pace within fast moving transformation programmes involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Desirable: experience of Ellucian Banner or equivalent student records systems and the Higher Education student lifecycle.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a solution architecture role, including recent delivery on Microsoft Dynamics platforms
