Solutions Architect

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Solutions Architect to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Bristol.

Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect who will take ownership of the entire technical solution for a project (or subset of a larger programme) across all architecture domains and all phases of the SDLC. You will liaise with the relevant principal and Domain Architects from the IT Strategy & Architecture Team with the relevant business stakeholders and Programme/Project teams to ensure the correct solution is identified, designed and delivered.

Responsibilities

• Shape and agree on the solution architecture for the project, ensuring alignment with Architecture Roadmaps, strategies, principles and standards as published and communicated by IT Architecture
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the solution identified is fully understood and supported by all stakeholders, aligning with the business need. While making sure it is fit for purpose and provides value for investment made
• Develop comprehensive solution architecture, producing all necessary architectural perspectives to ensure the design is fully documented and effectively communicated to stakeholders, operations teams, and technical delivery teams
• Present solution architecture at the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for approval, ensuring it is adhered to throughout the SDLC. If deviations arise, the Solution Architect is accountable for identifying, updating and submitting the revised architecture to the ARB for approval
• Present the solution architecture to service operations teams to support transition and information security review
• Guide the solution design ensuring alignment with the approved Solution Architecture and with all relevant bank standards
• Guide and consult with project management team to ensure delivery models adopted are suitable, cost effective & the right fit

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in solutions architecture
• Substantial knowledge of several technical platforms and systems architectures
• Proven ability in designing, influencing and delivering end-to-end solutions in partnership with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment and across a range of SDLCs with a focus on delivering quality outcomes
• Experience of working in Banking or Financial Services
• IT Architecture qualifications such as CITA-F or TOGAF
• Cloud qualifications such as AWS, Azure, GCP
