Felder Group, one of the world's leading woodworking machinery manufacturers, is looking for an ambitious Apprentice Service Engineer to join our expert team. This is your chance to earn a great salary while learning how to maintain, repair, and install cutting-edge machinery used across the woodworking industry. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gain valuable qualifications, and develop technical skills that can lead to a long-term engineering career.
What You'll Be Doing As part of our Service Department, you'll learn how to:
- Repair and maintain machinery
- Dismantle, repair, and rebuild mechanical components
- Work on gears, bearings, belts, motors, and spindles
- Carry out planned maintenance on industry-leading equipment Develop electrical engineering skills
- Learn safe electrical isolation procedures
- Diagnose faults on sensors, motors, switches, and control systems
- Read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics
- Assist with electrical repairs and component replacement
- Work with pneumatic systems
- Repair and maintain compressed air systems
- Replace air lines, regulators, filters, and cylinders
- Troubleshoot faults affecting machine performance
- Become a skilled problem solver
- Respond to equipment breakdowns
- Help minimise downtime for customers
- Use modern diagnostic tools and engineering techniques

Training
You'll spend four days a week gaining real-world engineering experience with Felder Group and one day a week at MK College, working towards your Mechatronics Maintenance Technician qualification. This combination of practical experience and professional training will give you the skills needed for a successful engineering career.
Successful completion of your apprenticeship could lead to a permanent Service Engineer position, with opportunities to continue developing your technical expertise and progress within the business.
