Software Engineer

Software Engineer (Full-stack + AI)

London · Old Street · Onsite (5 days a week)

£80,000 plus meaningful equity (EMI options)

About the company

Your new interface is an agent. Our client builds an AI agent, led by voice and vision, that operates software for people. They just ask, and it onboards them, guides them, and does the work. Drop it into your product with two lines of code and every user gets a live agent on day one. The same agent shows up wherever your users are, whether that's embedded in your product, in the meeting room, or across your team's tools.

This is a small, 100% AI-native team in Old Street, London, backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Moonfire, and angels from Google, Twilio, and Meta. They don't just build agents, they use AI to optimise their own work every single day. The company is growing quickly and building something genuinely special, so they are looking for someone who feels that same pull and is ready to commit fully to it.

If that sounds like your kind of problem, we should talk.

What you'll do

  • Modern stack: Build scalable, real-time systems. Diverse backgrounds and skills are valued. Some experience with a modern stack like theirs (Hono, React, Neon, TypeScript, Python) or with AI-powered apps and agents is beneficial, but it isn't a strict requirement.
  • Own features end-to-end: From intuitive user interfaces to scalable backend services and AI agent orchestration.
  • Agentic experience: Shape an intuitive experience for the voice-first agent, and build the system behind it, covering tool use and MCP, memory, and real-time voice and vision.
  • Work closely with the founders: Help shape and build the vision, balancing the need to move fast now with scaling later.

What we're looking for

This is a demanding role and a genuine opportunity, so the right person will bring real drive and a strong work ethic. You should want to pour yourself into something you believe in, take ownership of the outcome, and give it everything because you care how it turns out.

  • A serious appetite for hard work. You aren't looking for a comfortable nine to five. You want to build something meaningful and you'll put in the effort to make it happen.
  • At least 4 years of experience building software.
  • A 0→1 builder who has shipped to production, ideally rapidly shipping apps and building scalable systems in containerised environments.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a startup. You know what it means to build something from scratch that real people actually use or pay for.
  • Daily use of coding agent tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
  • Comfort with a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and you are trusted to judge what matters most and act on it.
  • A genuine commitment to working onsite. The company believes early-stage teams win by being in the same room, so this is a full-time, in-office role, 5 days a week in Old Street.

What's on offer

  • £80,000 salary plus meaningful equity (EMI options): Everyone here has skin in the game and upside if the company wins.
  • The chance to define entirely new markets for AI agents.
  • Real influence on architecture: You'll make foundational decisions on the platform and SDK that shape how future engineers and customers build on top of it.
  • Exposure across the startup stack: Beyond code, sit in on user interviews, shape product strategy, and get a front-row seat to how startups actually grow.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Pension, private health insurance, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • A team that's genuinely excited: Obsessive about the problem, proud of what they're building, with a culture that is sharp but supportive.
