Infrastructure Engineer
Infrastructure Engineer – Azure | M365 |
We’re partnering with a national infrastructure business to find an Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in shaping and supporting their growing internal IT platform. You’ll be part of a high performing team supporting over 5,000 users across multiple UK sites, taking ownership of Microsoft modern workplace tools, cloud infrastructure, and network security.
This is far more than BAU support. It’s a hands on, proactive role spanning deployment, improvement, and security across a modern Microsoft-first estate.
Why This Role?
Make a Strategic Impact – You’ll be trusted with critical systems, from Azure VM deployments to Conditional Access policies and VLAN configuration.
Growth-Focused Culture – With an expanding infrastructure function, there’s plenty of scope to grow your skill set and get involved in new platform initiatives.
Collaboration at its Core – Work across multiple departments, liaising with vendors and senior stakeholders to ensure IT drives business success.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, configuring, and supporting infrastructure components (Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Networking)
- Providing senior level (3rd line) technical escalation for complex infrastructure issues
- Leading systems improvement work: from firewall policies and endpoint security to patch management and automation
- Managing and optimising Microsoft cloud services, including Azure VMs, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Intune
- Contributing to documentation, root cause analysis, and platform resilience planning
- Supporting the rollout of internal IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and compliance
We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ experience in IT support, with 3+ years at a 3rd line or infrastructure level
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and Intune
- Practical knowledge of VLAN configuration and switching (Aruba, Cisco or similar)
- Familiarity with Conditional Access policies, Azure VM setup, and cloud security best practices
- A recent Microsoft certification (within the last 3 years) is highly desirable
- Strong documentation skills, and the ability to translate technical solutions to non-technical users
