IT Support Apprentice

The successful candidate will assist the IT team in providing technical support to staff/users and help to maintain hardware, software and network systems. This role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in IT, offering hands-on experience, training and the opportunity to develop technical and customer-facing skills.

Role

  • Setting up new starters on the system, creating/migrating their mailbox from a prem environment to the cloud.
  • Setting up hardware devices like computers, laptops, cameras and printers.
  • Assisting employees with general IT issues/queries, ranging from setting up peripherals to troubleshooting complex problems.
  • Collaborating with all departments across the business working on crucial IT projects.
  • Testing and maintenance of the backup system.
  • Firewall maintenance and updating rules within the system.
  • Configuration and maintenance of cisco switches.
  • Checking computers/laptops windows updates, manually and automatically through an update server.
  • Involved in improving cyber policies and phishing simulations.
  • Updating/improving documentation procedures.
  • Effectively control health & safety risks within your designated work areas and teams.

Training

  • Yeovil college attendence once every 2 weeks, plus 1 hour remote session every week. 
  • Upon completion of this apprenticeship, there could be potential to become an IT Support Technician within Framptons Ltd.
