Group CFO
Our client is a dynamic and high growth group of companies / family office with a diverse range of business within the Tech / IT / Communications Industry along with wider investments interests both in the UK and Internationally.
As part of the Groups continued growth and professional structuring, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Group Finance Director / CFO to join the business.
Due to my clients UK wide interests, this is a national search however candidates will ideally be within commutable distance to the companies Cheshire head office 1-2 days per week
Working closely with the CEO & Chairman the scope of this position is likely to include.
Private Equity/Venture Capital Investment
Member of the Investment Committee responsible for setting investment strategy and appraising/approving investments and acquisitions
Investment appraisal and due diligence
Development of complex financial investment models
Structuring of investments
Monitor existing unquoted investments and regular liaison with external managers
Management of investment legal documentation
Treasury Management/Investment Management
Control of group cash balances
Development/management of quoted investment portfolio
Monitor and appraise external Investment Manager’s performance
Evaluation and implementation of sophisticated investment products
Legal & Company Secretarial
Company secretarial function for all group companies supporting Family Office Director
Assist Tax specialist with Taxation issues - IHT, Annual Returns, and tax compliance
Compliance and other legislative requirements across the group
Planning/Reporting
Development of financial plans and forecasts across the group
Work closely with Business Unit and Investment Finance Director to drive performance and growth.
Preparation of key management information for each investment / BU
Production of consolidated Family Office accounts
Critique and presentation of group performance to the stakeholders
Private Family
Assists and support Director of Family Office in development and implementation of Family’s strategy and plans for protection and enhancement of Family’s assets and wealth
Assists with management of family private estate and assets to include Airplanes / Boats to include acquisitions and disposals
Manage all aspects of banking - receipts, payments for both personal, trusts and corporate
Review and monitor charitable trust and donations
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a formally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) Finance Director / CFO with demonstrated experience in the below
- Experience gained within dynamic entrepreneurial private business Ideally £50m-£500m
- Private Equity / VC or Private Family Office Experience
- Strong experience gained around M&A, DD both Buy & Sale
- Comfortable working within a group of diverse / broad business interests
- Group Accounting experience ideally with sound technical grounding
- First Class Interpersonal and Communication skills willing to challenge Investment Director and BU Finance Directors / MD on performance.
In return a competitive six Figure basic salary can be offered coupled with extensive benefits, bonus earning potential and LTIP can be offered with this role.
This is a permanent position with some requirement to travel across London & Midlands to a portfolio of group but still affording a high level of autonomy to manage your own diary.
