Operations Manager

FRS are recruiting an Operations Manager role for a leading logistics business based in Banbury.

The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of warehouse, transport and fulfilment operations. The successful candidate will ensure that service levels, compliance, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved, while leading a motivated and high-performing operations team.

My client has attached a salary of up to £80k on this role plus company car & other benefits to be discussed with suitable applicants.

Key Duties

• Lead and manage all warehouse and distribution activities to meet agreed service KPIs and contractual obligations
• Oversee inbound, storage, pick-pack, and outbound processes, ensuring accuracy, productivity and cost efficiency
• Manage workforce planning, shift rotas and resource allocation
• Develop and maintain SOPs to ensure operational consistency and compliance with H&S, legal and client requirements
• Liaise with clients on operational matters, including reporting, performance reviews and process improvement
• Implement and monitor KPIs, analysing performance data to identify areas for improvement
• Manage inventory control processes, cycle counts and stock integrity
• Collaborate with IT and systems teams to ensure WMS/TMS platforms are optimised and utilised effectively
• Lead, coach, and develop operational supervisors and team leaders
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience
• Manage operational budgets, controlling costs while maintaining quality service
• Ensure all H&S policies are followed, maintaining a safe working environment

Suitable Candidate Will Have / Be

• Proven management experience in a 3PL, warehousing or logistics environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff
• Excellent understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management and transport operations
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and resources effectively
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management Systems (TMS)
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to H&S and regulatory compliance
