A well-established, UK-based financial services organisation is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join a growing engineering function and play a key role in shaping the next phase of its platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining software engineering, architecture ownership, and day-to-day guidance of a small development team.

What you’ll be doing

Leading a team of engineers while remaining actively hands-on
Designing and delivering scalable, resilient full-stack solutions
Owning technical direction, architecture, and best practices
Working closely with product, stakeholders, and leadership to translate requirements into robust software
Improving engineering standards around CI/CD, testing, and DevOps
Contributing to the evolution of mission-critical, always-on systems

Tech environment

C#, .NET (Core / modern), SQL
Azure (cloud-native services)
React / modern JavaScript & TypeScript
DevOps, CI/CD, Docker
Agile delivery environment

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Software Engineer
Strong full-stack background with the Microsoft stack
Experience leading or mentoring engineers
Solid understanding of architecture, clean code, and testing
Comfortable working in a hybrid Manchester-based role
