We are looking for a commercially driven, technically fluent Head of Continuous Operations to lead and rapidly scale this division.
About the Role
This is a unique, greenfield leadership opportunity. Currently, our service desk operates at a highly advanced level (our Tier 1 engineers operate at a traditional Tier 2/3 level) and is running efficiently with a small footprint. Your primary mandate will be to capitalise on this stability by stepping out into a commercial, pre-sales capacity - working heavily alongside our COO and new Growth & Marketing Manager to sell our Continuous Operations offering to existing, potential, and new clients.
As you win new business and scale our client base (primarily within our target sectors, such as financial services), you will be responsible for growing the department, hiring elite engineers, and ensuring our service delivery remains unparalleled.
What You Will Do
- Spearhead Commercial Growth : Act as the technical pre-sales authority, actively selling our Continuous Operations services. You will design tailored, modular service packages that align with the strategic goals of enterprise clients.
- Lead Operational Delivery : Maintain oversight of our high-calibre support function, ensuring we consistently deliver proactive security, modern MI reporting architectures, and cross-platform support (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Scale the Department : As you drive new revenue, you will own the hiring, structure, and scaling of the Continuous Operations team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with the Growth & Marketing Manager on campaigns, partner with the COO on commercial strategy, and identify complex consulting opportunities to refer to our CEO-led consulting practice.
- Client Advisory : Act as a strategic advisor to our clients, ensuring they do not pay the hidden costs of downtime, architectural debt, or superficial security as they scale.
What You'll Bring
- Commercial IT Experience : A proven track record in technical pre-sales, account management, or business development within an IT services, consultancy, or high-end managed services environment.
- Technical Fluency : A strong understanding of modern IT environments (cloud architecture, DevOps principles, cyber security, networking, and governance) to credibly pitch to technical stakeholders and C-suite executives.
- Operational Leadership : Experience overseeing IT operations or service delivery, with the capability to recruit, mentor, and scale a team of high-performing engineers.
- The "Anti-MSP" Mindset : A rejection of "ticket-churn" mentalities. You must possess a consultative approach to service design, understanding how to tailor technology to real business outcomes.
- Sector Knowledge : Experience working with heavily regulated industries, such as financial services or fintech, is highly desirable.
