QA Engineer (Hybrid – Handforth)

 

FastDox builds powerful SaaS software used by customers globally to automate complex workflows, document handling, onboarding, and compliance processes. Our platform supports high-volume operations for professional services organisations, helping them manage client journeys, documentation, and regulatory requirements at scale.

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our growing product and engineering team. This role will play a key part in improving release confidence, reducing regressions, and embedding quality across how we build and ship our platform.

You will work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure that new features, enhancements, and fixes meet the highest standards before reaching customers. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong manual testing with automation and modern tooling to help build a robust, scalable SaaS platform.

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and quality of the FastDox platform by contributing to both manual and automated testing practices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Test new features, fixes and changes across the platform (functional, regression, exploratory, integration).
• Write and maintain clear, structured test plans and test cases that cover key workflows, edge cases, and business-critical scenarios.
• Test APIs, integrations, permissions/roles and multi-tenant SaaS behaviour to ensure consistent behaviour across environments and customer configurations.
• Build and maintain automated tests for critical user journeys, including smoke tests and regression coverage.
• Contribute to improved CI/CD feedback loops, ensuring test results provide clear, actionable insights during pipeline runs.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate QA activities (such as test design, coverage gap identification, bug investigation, documentation, and test data generation) in a pragmatic and responsible way.
• Work closely with Engineering and Product teams during backlog refinement, planning, risk assessment, defect triage, and release readiness activities.
• Help improve overall quality processes and testing standards across the development lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, curious, and passionate about quality. The ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively in a fast-moving SaaS environment and take ownership of ensuring high-quality releases.

Requirements include:

• Commercial QA experience working within an Agile software development team.
• Strong manual testing skills, particularly in exploratory and regression testing.
• Experience building or maintaining automation tests for web applications and/or APIs (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman/Newman or similar tools).
• Confidence testing APIs, integrations, role-based permissions, and SaaS workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS-hosted environments, including basic awareness of environments, logs/monitoring, and deployment processes.
• Excellent written communication skills, including clear bug reports, reproducible steps, and impact descriptions.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and collaborating across product, engineering, and operational teams.

Nice to Have

While not essential, experience in the following areas would be beneficial:

• SQL
• Accessibility, performance, or security testing exposure
• Familiarity with PHP / Laravel environments

Location & Working Pattern

Hybrid working based in Cheshire, typically 3 days in the office and the remainder remote.

Salary Range

£35,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
