The Role — Business Development ManagerAs a Business Development Manager, you’ll be central to generating new business opportunities. You’ll identify prospects, open conversations, and help convert leads into long-term clients. You’ll collaborate closely with senior sales leaders, technical pre-sales specialists, and a supportive marketing team. This is a proactive role that values initiative, ownership, and strong communication.
What You’ll Do as the Business Development Manager- Identify and engage potential customers through phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and networking
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Run discovery calls to understand client challenges and needs
- Progress deals from first contact through proposal to close
- Work with technical teams to create tailored solutions
- Maintain accurate CRM records for leads, activities, and forecasting
- Stay aware of market trends and competitor activity
- Support marketing-led campaigns and events that build pipeline
- Some experience in B2B sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
- Confident and resilient, comfortable creating opportunities from scratch
- Strong communication and questioning skills
- Organised and proactive, able to manage workload effectively
- Ambitious, coachable, and keen to develop quickly
