Central London

£45,000

Our client is a well-established multi-disciplinary group with a diverse technology estate. They are looking for an IT Support Engineer who wants to grow beyond traditional service desk work. This is a hands-on role with a clear route into Infrastructure, Security or Cloud Engineering.

The role

You will provide 1st and 2nd line support across the Group, working alongside infrastructure engineers, developers and business stakeholders. Beyond day-to-day support, you will contribute to projects, automation and security improvements, with the chance to build your skills across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking and cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities

  • Resolve incidents and service requests across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and business applications, owning them through to resolution
  • Support Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), including onboarding, permissions and access management
  • Assist with Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management
  • Support server, network and infrastructure platforms under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, endpoint security and disaster recovery activities
  • Contribute to IT projects, technology rollouts and automation of repetitive tasks
  • Create and maintain clear knowledge base documentation
  • Take part in AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives

About you

Essential

  • Experience in an IT support or service desk environment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities

Desirable

  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Entra ID / Active Directory
  • Intune and endpoint management
  • Networking fundamentals
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Cybersecurity knowledge
  • ITIL understanding
  • Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot
  • A diploma or degree in computer science (advantageous, not essential)

What they are looking for

Someone curious about how systems work behind the scenes, who takes ownership rather than simply escalating, and who communicates confidently with technical and non-technical colleagues. You will also be keen to work towards Microsoft or industry certifications.
