Founding Engineer (What you have built & achieved is more important than years of experience)

We’re partnering with an early-stage, high-ambition startup to hire Founding Engineers who will help shape the entire technical foundation of the business.

This is a hands-on, in-person role in London, working directly with the founders to build and scale a production system from first principles.

They’re hiring across multiple strengths - you don’t need to cover everything, but you should bring deep expertise in at least one core area.

AI Engineering

LLM orchestration, prompting, and workflows

Evaluation systems and feedback loops

Data Engineering

Data ingestion from heterogeneous sources

Data modelling, transformation, and pipelines

PostgreSQL, vector databases, medallion architectures

Enterprise Infrastructure

Multi-tenant SaaS systems

Cloud infrastructure and deployment

Security, authentication, and system reliability

The role

🧠 Build and deploy AI systems using LLMs (prompting, orchestration, evaluation)

📊 Design and scale data pipelines across diverse sources (APIs, scraping, structured data)

⚙️ Develop core SaaS infrastructure, including multi-tenant architecture

🔧 Take ownership of system design across AI, data, and backend layers

🚀 Build for scale from day one while maintaining rapid iteration speed

🤝 Work closely with founders on product direction and technical strategy

What they’re looking for

🧠 Proven track record of building and shipping real products (SaaS, pipelines, or strong side projects)

🛠️ Strong engineering fundamentals across systems, backend, or full-stack

⚙️ Ability to quickly learn and adapt across technologies (TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL)

🤖 Experience using AI coding tools to significantly increase output

🏗️ Strong problem-solving mindset - comfortable owning problems end-to-end

➕ Bonus: exposure to healthcare, biotech, or regulated data environments
