This early-stage FinTech is on a mission to fight financial crime and reduce scams in online payments
They’re now hiring their first Site Reliability Engineer to build the reliability backbone of the company
🌍 The Company
- 20 people total, 10 Engineers operating across UK and Africa
- Mission-driven, high-ownership culture
- Working with highly sensitive financial data
You’ll sit across two engineering teams in different continents, owning reliability end-to-end
🧱 The Role: Founding SRE
This is not a maintenance role. You’ll define and implement reliability from scratch:
- Own monitoring, alerting & observability
- Lead infrastructure as code strategy
- Improve fault tolerance & system resilience
- Support security & compliance initiatives
- Partner with engineering teams across UK and Africa
- Build scalable systems ready for growth

👀 What They’re Looking For
- 3+ years in Site Reliability Engineering / Platform / DevOps
- Experience in early-stage startups
- Ideally you've been the first or only SRE in a scaling team
- Strong product mindset: reliability that drives customer value
- Experience in regulated or sensitive environments (FinTech, Payments, HealthTech, etc.)
- Comfortable working across distributed teams
Startup experience is essential. You need to thrive in ambiguity and build structure where none exists.
