We’re partnering with a well-funded payments business undergoing a full-scale digital transformation, with significant investment secured and a clear mandate to become a standalone leader in the payments space.
This is not a “steady-state” design leadership role.
This is a build, shape, and define opportunity.

You’ll join at a pivotal moment - stepping into a business with deep payments expertise but now investing heavily in modern product, design, and technology capability.
As Head of Design, you’ll:
- Build and own the design function from the ground up
- Define design principles, standards, and ways of working
- Lead design across a complex, multi-product ecosystem (merchant-facing + platform)
- Partner closely with Product & Engineering to drive a product-led transformation
- Hands-on initially while scaling a high-performing team around you (10+ designers)

🎯 What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience building and leading design functions (not just inheriting teams)
- You've managed teams of 10+ Product Designers
- Track record of creating and scaling design systems in complex environments
- Deep product thinking - comfortable influencing strategy, not just execution
- Background in high-growth fintech or product-led tech businesses (this is key)
👉 Payments experience is a huge bonus - fintech exposure is the priority
