The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join a growing Cyber & Digital team, supporting the delivery of Operational Technology projects across a range of industrial sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working on SCADA systems, PLCs, industrial control systems and electrical installations who enjoys a hands-on, site-based role. You'll play a key part in delivering OT installations, supporting commissioning activities, supervising contractors and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Operational Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, modifying and removing SCADA-related equipment in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and work procedures.
- Carrying out site surveys to support project planning and engineering design activities.
- Acting as the key liaison between site operators, contractors and engineering teams during site works.
- Managing and administering Permit to Work systems.
- Supervising contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining daily records of contractor attendance and site activities.
- Supporting engineers with planning site works, commissioning activities and testing procedures.
- Carrying out minor wiring modifications on control panels, including intrinsically safe (IS) and communications bus wiring.
- Monitoring construction progress against project schedules and labour targets.
- Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
- Travelling to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical qualifications suitable for carrying out wiring modifications on SCADA or control panels.
- Good knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations.
- CCNSG Safety Passport (or equivalent).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Authorised Electrical Person status (minimum NVQ equivalent qualification).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
