The Vacancy Background As part of our ongoing digital transformation, we are migrating our existing on-premises Microsoft SQL Server estate into Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI. To support the build, optimisation, and long-term scalability of these platforms, we are expanding our Data Engineering capability and are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join the team. The Data Engineering function is led by the Senior Data Engineer and sits within the Cloud and Infrastructure team, reporting directly to the Head of Cloud and Infrastructure. Role Overview This role will play a key part in translating business data strategy into meaningful insights, supporting reporting, data modelling, and platform development across Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments. The successful candidate will have a strong blend of technical capability, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven experience working across modern data platforms. Key Responsibilities Power BI - Reporting & Data Modelling Translate business data strategy into clear, actionable insights through reporting and analytics Design and develop semantic models, dashboards, reports, and applications Maintain and optimise existing reporting solutions Develop, troubleshoot, and enhance DAX measures Manage data models, relationships, and performance optimisation Implement and maintain Row-Level and Column-Level Security (RLS/CLS) Microsoft Fabric & Data Platform Build and maintain data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory Develop and manage Fabric Warehouses, aligned to medallion architecture (Gold layer) Design and implement data models (Star Schema) Configure and manage Admin Portal and tenant settings Manage: Data gateways Connections and credentials Workspace roles and permissions OneLake security Essential Skills & Experience Minimum of 2+ years' experience in a Data Analyst role (essential) Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI Exposure to or experience with Microsoft Fabric Proficiency in: T-SQL DAX Power Query (M) Strong analytical and problem-solving capability Ability to produce clear process documentation and architecture diagrams Confident engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across: IT Finance Legal Marketing Senior leadership Proactive mindset with a strong commitment to continuous learning and development Desirable Skills Experience working within a legal or professional services environment. Experience developing and supporting complex financial reporting in Power BI Knowledge of: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations Dynamics data integrations (BYOD, Synapse Link, Fabric Link) Experience with: Azure SQL Database SQL Database Administration (DP-300 or equivalent) Azure / Fabric Data Factory What We're Looking For We are looking for a data-driven, detail-oriented professional who can bridge the gap between business and technology.
