The Vacancy
The role of the IT Infrastructure Services Manager is to manage the IT Infrastructure Services team and to ensure the firm's diverse technical operations are managed effectively. The services include, but are not limited to hardware, software, networking and network security in both physical and virtual environments.
The main objective is to ensure all services and systems are resilient, secure and always available to our colleagues with maximum availability.
This role reports directly to the Head of IT Cloud & Infrastructure, has direct reports and will also need to work closely with other technical and project teams.

A bit about the role
- Developing, plan, build and optimize IT Infrastructure in accordance with Industry standards and compliance policies such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
- Manage data centres and network service providers to comply with security/compliance policies.
- Manage Azure Subscriptions, and planning ensuring billing closely monitored
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring these are under support and licenced.
- Continuously assess and remediate vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure to minimize the window of opportunity for attackers.
- Manage and cultivate high-performing teams across Cloud & Platform, Modern User Workspace and IT-Networking, investing the time to ensure efficient team utilisation and productivity.
- Reporting on all projects within the infrastructure team highlighting risk, budget discrepancies and successes.
- Monitor and report on IT system availability and application performance against metrics and performance standards.
- Liaising with team members to ensure that problem management is completed effectively and in conjunction with the Problem Manager.
- Create, manage and ensure Infrastructure budgets are adhered to and expenditure is optimised and reduced with a particular focus on SaaS and cloud service costs
- Create and maintain accurate documentation in relation to the infrastructure, in particular the WAN and LAN design, firewall configuration, and any specific application design and configuration
- Manage IT vendors, ensuring adherence to agreed KPIs and SLAs, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Contribute to the drive of automation and continuous improvement of services and support, and maximizing value of existing tools and technologies
- Ensuring server templates and images follow best-practice and adhere to security baselines
- Ensure regular service delivery meetings are held, act as a key escalation point within the firm and feed into contract negotiation for renewed and enhanced services
A bit about you
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in information technology and will possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of five years' experience of managing IT Systems and IT Technicians, ideally managing remote teams across multiple locations
- Extensive experience in managing complex IT infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networks
- Extensive knowledge of core IT services such as servers and networking, backup and recovery, security solutions, applications and end user computing
- Extensive practical experience of Windows Server and Azure AD, M365, Exchange, and VMWare vSphere/ESX. Citrix experience would be an advantage
- Experience of working within an ITIL framework, ideally certified at a minimum or ITIL Foundation Version 3
- Experience of security and governance frameworks
- Experience of coaching and developing a team or other colleagues
- Proven experience of managing complex technical projects
- Previous experience in creating and delivering technical roadmaps
- Strong leadership and management skills, including experience managing remote teams
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
