Technical Systems & Support Engineer (Full-Stack/Azure/Progress)
About the Role
We’re looking for a versatile and proactive Technical Systems & Support Engineer to join our team. This role bridges IT support, software development, and system administration. Ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across different technologies, and improving business systems end-to-end.
You’ll be responsible for handling helpdesk support tickets, configuring systems, performing business analysis, managing Progress databases, developing applications, and supporting our infrastructure manager in maintaining our Azure cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
Helpdesk & Systems Support
- Provide timely response and resolution to internal helpdesk tickets.
- Flexible to work between 7am to 7pm to liaise with development team and support overseas clients.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and user access issues.
- Configure and maintain business systems and applications.
Business Analysis
- Work with business users to gather and document requirements.
- Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in implementing new business systems or integrations.
Development & Integration
- Develop and maintain applications using Progress/OpenEdge and other related technologies.
- Build and maintain front-end components using React.js .
- Create and manage API connections between systems.
- Ensure secure and efficient data flow between platforms.
Cloud & Infrastructure Support
- Assist the Infrastructure Manager in maintaining the Microsoft Azure environment.
- Monitor cloud services, backups, and security configurations.
- Support deployment, updates, and automation processes.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in IT support or technical operations or Software development
- Working knowledge of databases and willingness to learn Progress / OpenEdge ).
- Working knowledge of React.js , JavaScript , JSON, OAuth and Restful API integration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure administration and cloud concepts.
- Strong programming fundamentals and analytical and problem-solving ability, with the flexibility to work across languages and technologies."
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively across departments.
Nice to have
- Experience with SQL or other relational databases.
- Exposure to DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, JIRA etc.).
- Background in system configuration and business process mapping .
- Understanding of IT security best practices .
