Business Development Manager

Company Overview

Financial Cloud is a unified Financial CRM built exclusively for regulated financial services — serving lenders, debt collection businesses, servicers, BNPL providers, and adjacent organisations. We provide the CRM, payment orchestration, IVR, communications, and workflow automation that these businesses run on.

We are growing, with an ambitious strategy and a clear path to getting there. Our clients are regulated, enterprise-grade organisations, and the relationships we build with them are long-term and high-value.

We're hiring a commercially minded Business Development Manager to take ownership of generating, nurturing, and growing our pipeline. You will work with our executive team and an established marketing team, bringing the right opportunities to the table so our leadership can focus on winning them.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for keeping Financial Cloud’s pipeline full of the right opportunities. You will join client meetings, demos, and commercial negotiations—your role is to ensure conversations happen with the right people, at the right time, and in the right context.

You will combine outbound prospecting with data and insight work, event presence, partner coordination, and careful relationship nurturing. This is not a high-volume sales role. It is a thoughtful, relationship-focused role in a specialist sector where credibility and patience are key.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Research and build high-quality target account lists aligned to our ideal customer profile across lending, collections, banking, BNPL, servicing, and legal.
  • Manage and maintain our prospect data—keeping records accurate, up to date, and well-organised within HubSpot and connected tools
  • Plan and execute outbound campaigns across email and LinkedIn, crafting relevant, personalised messaging that resonates with financial services professionals
  • Identify the right stakeholders within target organisations and open doors through thoughtful, well-timed outreach
  • Nurture contacts over time — building familiarity and trust with prospects who are not yet ready to engage, so that Financial Cloud is front of mind when the time is right
  • Coordinate and attend industry events — researching attendees, securing pre-event meetings, representing the business professionally, and following up systematically afterwards
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential partners, referral sources, and introducer networks that can support pipeline growth
  • Book qualified meetings and ensure a clear, well-documented handover of context, stakeholder detail, and background ahead of each conversation
  • Work with the marketing team to align outbound activity with campaigns, content, and event schedules
  • Set up and maintain the tooling and workflows that support outbound activity — sequences, automations, reporting, and CRM hygiene in HubSpot, Apollo, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Track outreach performance and pipeline activity, sharing regular updates and ideas for improvement

What Are We Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in the quality of their work and understands that good business development in a specialist sector is about relevance and relationships, not volume.

Required

  • 3–5 years of experience in a business development, sales development, or commercial role within enterprise software.
  • Strong outbound prospecting skills across email and LinkedIn, with an ability to craft thoughtful, targeted messaging
  • Experience researching accounts, identifying the right stakeholders, and building structured target lists
  • Comfortable engaging professionally with senior contacts in financial services or other regulated sectors
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, or LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • A self-starter who takes ownership of their workload and does not need to be closely managed

Desirable

  • Experience working within or prospecting into UK lending, debt collection, banking, servicing, or adjacent regulated sectors
  • Experience coordinating or attending B2B industry events and managing pre- and post-event follow-up
  • Familiarity with longer-cycle, consultative B2B environments where relationships develop over months rather than days
  • Experience supporting or working alongside a partner or introducer network
  • Experience working closely with senior commercial leaders
