Corporate Strategy Director (12-Month FTC)

Finastra is seeking an experienced Corporate Strategy Director to join the company on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board to shape and deliver some of the company’s most important enterprise-wide strategic initiatives during a critical phase of execution.

This role is ideally suited to a former consultant from a leading strategy consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), or Bain & Company) or a senior strategy professional with comparable experience, who thrives on tackling complex, high-impact challenges and delivering tangible results within a defined timeframe.

Working within a lean corporate strategy team and reporting to the SVP of Strategy and Chief of Staff, you will play a central role in supporting the planning, analysis, and execution of strategic initiatives spanning multiple business units and functions. The role offers exceptional visibility, significant exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to influence decisions that shape the future direction of the business.

Role Overview

The Corporate Strategy Director will be a key contributor to the development and execution of Finastra’s corporate strategy. This is a senior individual contributor role with no line management responsibilities. Success in this position requires strong analytical capability, structured problem solving, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.

The role is highly hands-on and execution-focused, requiring ownership of complex workstreams and delivery of high-quality outputs that inform decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation.

In addition to supporting enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, the role will provide targeted support to corporate development activities (including strategic fit assessments and early-stage due diligence) and contribute to ESG-related initiatives from a strategy and delivery perspective. Deep ESG expertise is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of Finastra’s corporate strategy in close collaboration with the CEO and Strategy leadership
  • Conduct rigorous research and analysis on market trends, competitive dynamics, customer opportunities, and strategic options
  • Build financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
  • Partner with business units and functional teams to define scope, structure workstreams, and drive delivery of cross-functional initiatives
  • Provide programme support across multiple concurrent initiatives, including timeline management, risk identification, dependency tracking, and progress monitoring
  • Prepare clear, concise presentations and updates for senior stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and Board
  • Support corporate development activities, including strategic fit assessments and early-stage due diligence
  • Contribute to ESG-related initiatives as part of the broader corporate strategy agenda
  • Develop a deep understanding of Finastra’s products, customers, markets, and strategic priorities
  • Deliver bespoke analysis and support for CEO-led initiatives, Board materials, and external stakeholder discussions

Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience gained at a leading strategy consulting firm (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain) or in a comparable corporate strategy role
  • Experience in corporate strategy, transformation, strategic planning, or corporate development
  • Exposure to private equity, software, fintech, or financial services environments is highly desirable
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capability, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and synthesise complex information
  • Strong financial modelling and business case development skills
  • Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and deliver high-quality outputs at pace
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility to engage effectively with senior executives and Board-level stakeholders
  • Highly self-directed, with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of deliverables
  • Pragmatic, resilient, and strongly delivery-focused
  • Exposure to ESG topics is advantageous but not essential
