Finatal is exclusively partnering with a PE Fund as they continue to invest heavily in the data capabilities of their portfolio companies. Sitting within the Value Creation team, this role offers the opportunity to combine technical leadership with hands-on delivery across a portfolio of PE-backed businesses. Working directly with CEOs, CFOs, and CTOs, you will help shape data strategies, define target-state architectures, and support the delivery of modern data platforms that enable reporting, forecasting, advanced analytics, data science, AI, and wider business growth.

The role is suited to someone from a Data Engineering, Data Platform or Architecture background who enjoys remaining close to technology whilst having greater influence over business and technology decisions. You'll be involved in platform design and development, cloud architecture, and engineering best practices. You'll also support teams across data warehousing, orchestration, CI/CD, governance, and platform modernisation initiatives, helping establish the foundations required for analytics, data science, and AI use cases across a range of PE-backed businesses.

Role:

• Assess data maturity, identify opportunities for improvement, and advise CEOs, CFOs, and CTOs on data, analytics, and AI initiatives that drive measurable commercial outcomes.

• Support the design, build, and optimisation of modern cloud data platforms, data warehouses, and analytics environments.

• Define scalable target-state architectures and provide guidance on data engineering best practices across data modelling, orchestration, governance, quality, testing, and platform design.

• Work with both business and technical stakeholders to shape data platform roadmaps and support the delivery of modern cloud data solutions.

• Help establish the data foundations required to support advanced analytics, data science, AI, and wider business transformation initiatives.

• Work alongside internal teams and third-party partners to deliver platform modernisation and data transformation programmes across multiple businesses.

Requirements:

• Experience within Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar environment.

• Strong SQL and working Python skills.

• Experience with modern cloud data platforms across Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Comfortable engaging with both senior business stakeholders and technical teams.

• Experience working within consulting, professional services, PE-backed, or transformational environments would be advantageous.
