We are working with a private equity–backed B2B SaaS business at a pivotal stage of its growth journey. The company has a clear ambition to scale ARR to £50m, driven by a combination of organic growth, geographic expansion, entry into adjacent sectors, and a programme of strategic bolt‐on acquisitions.

To support this next phase, the business is seeking a Finance Director to partner closely with the CEO and play a central role in shaping and delivering the value creation plan.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Director will be the most senior finance leader in the business and a key member of the leadership team. The role combines financial rigour and governance with commercial insight and strategic influence, requiring someone equally comfortable professionalising a finance function and driving growth‐focused decision‐making.

The successful candidate will act as the primary financial interface with the Board and private equity investors, providing clear, insightful reporting and confidently articulating the numbers behind the strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function, professionalising systems, processes and controls in line with PE standards
• Deliver high‐quality, insightful management reporting to the CEO, Board and investors, including KPI frameworks, dashboards and forward‐looking analysis
• Own budgeting, forecasting and long‐range planning, aligned to the group’s ARR growth and expansion strategy
• Partner with the CEO and leadership team on commercial decision‐making, pricing, unit economics, investment cases and resource allocation
• Play a lead role in M&A activity, including financial due diligence, modelling, integration planning and post‐acquisition performance tracking
• Support geographic expansion and entry into adjacent markets with robust financial analysis and execution discipline
• Ensure appropriate governance, risk management and internal controls as the business scales
• Build credibility with external stakeholders, including lenders, advisors and auditors

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in investor‐backed B2B SaaS businesses, ideally within a private equity environment
• A track record of scaling finance functions in high‐growth organisations, including systems, controls and reporting sophistication
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
• Experience supporting growth strategies involving international expansion and M&A
• Confident communicator with the gravitas to present to Boards and engage credibly with investors
• Hands‐on, pragmatic and resilient, comfortable operating in a fast‐paced, evolving environment
