Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Technical Trainer on behalf of our client, a specialist organisation operating within the mobile telecommunications industry.
The successful candidate will deliver cutting-edge technical training to professionals within the mobile telecoms sector, with a particular focus on 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies.
This is a highly technical training role and the successful candidate must have previous experience within the cellular communications/mobile telecommunications industry, with a strong understanding of RF and mobile network technologies.
You will play a key role in the development and delivery of technical training programmes, while also operating autonomously on a global basis when delivering training. The ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential, as is the ability to maintain engagement and achieve excellent training evaluations.
The role will suit an experienced telecommunications professional who is looking to move into, or further develop, a career within technical training.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm (Hybrid). Training commitments may require occasional evening or weekend travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete the full lifecycle management of training courses, including development, delivery and ongoing maintenance.
- Deliver technical training covering mobile telecommunications technologies, including 4G LTE and 5G NR.
- Develop and maintain a broad and up-to-date knowledge of mobile telecommunications technology, keeping abreast of developments within a rapidly evolving industry.
- Use industry experience and technical knowledge to develop relevant, engaging and technically accurate training content.
- Deliver training to both technical and non-technical audiences, adapting content and delivery style to suit the audience.
- Undertake protocol-level analysis of network signalling flows across technologies which may include LTE, VoLTE (IMS), CIoT and 5G.
- Support training relating to virtualisation and cloud-native technologies.
- Liaise directly with customers to understand their requirements and develop and deliver bespoke training courses, including product-specific training.
- Contribute to the creation of video-based training content and studio work; candidates must be comfortable presenting in front of camera.
- Contribute to marketing activity, including technology blogs, social media content and providing technical input to colleagues.
- Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers where required.
- Travel internationally where required to deliver customer training.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous professional experience within the cellular communications, mobile telecommunications or wireless communications industry is essential.
- Strong understanding of RF and mobile telecommunications technologies is essential.
- Practical knowledge of 4G LTE and/or 5G NR technologies.
- Experience working with mobile network technologies, signalling or protocol analysis.
- Previous experience delivering technical training, presentations, workshops or technical demonstrations.
- Ability to assimilate complex technical information quickly and communicate it clearly and effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – these will be assessed as part of the interview process.
- Ability to engage confidently with both highly technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable presenting technical content in front of a camera for video-based training.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, including when working with customers internationally.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally when required.
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience specifically within a technical training or technical instructor role.
- Detailed knowledge of 4G/5G mobile telecommunications systems.
- Experience with VoLTE / IMS, CIoT, network signalling or protocol-level analysis.
- Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience developing technical training courses or learning materials.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
