Sharepoint Administrator

Take ownership of a business-critical SharePoint platform and shape its future strategy in a complex enterprise environment.
Our Client has a requirement for a SharePoint Administrator, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Culham, on a hybrid basis (3 days on-site).

Role Purpose:

  • Develop and implement a medium-to-long-term SharePoint strategy aligned with business needs
  • Ensure effective planning, deployment, and optimisation of the SharePoint platform
  • Support the transition of SharePoint services into a stable “business as usual” (BAU) environment
  • Produce and manage technical documentation including architecture, design frameworks, and governance standards

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT and SharePoint teams to align with organisational standards and best practices
  • Design, implement and maintain SharePoint architecture for current and future requirements
  • Install, configure and upgrade SharePoint environments across on-premise and cloud platforms
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security controls
  • Develop and maintain content databases and site collections
  • Support the deployment of custom SharePoint solutions alongside development teams
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot end-user and system issues
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and security, ensuring high availability
  • Plan and manage backup and disaster recovery processes
  • Produce clear documentation including policies, procedures, and user guidance
  • Deliver training and support to end-users and internal stakeholders
  • Work closely with wider IT functions to resolve integration and infrastructure issues

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong experience administering SharePoint (Server and/or Online)
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint architecture including sites, libraries, workflows, and permissions
  • Experience working within Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, Power Automate)
  • PowerShell scripting for administration and automation
  • Knowledge of SharePoint security, governance, and compliance
  • Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance
  • Experience managing document libraries and enterprise content systems
  • Familiarity with both cloud and on-premise environments
  • Basic knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) – desirable
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
