Head of IT Operations
We’re recruiting for an experienced Head of IT Operations to lead the IT function for a growing organisation with multiple UK sites, a large customer base and an active e-commerce operation. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of all IT infrastructure while driving strategic IT projects that support business transformation and growth.
This is a key leadership role for a highly organised, strategically minded IT professional who can manage people, systems and external providers while continuously improving service delivery.
Job duties – Head of IT Operations:
- Define and deliver the IT operational roadmap in line with business goals
- Lead, develop and motivate the IT Assistant and Web Developer
- Own and deliver major IT projects including upgrades, migrations and enterprise system changes
- Ensure the stability, availability and scalability of IT systems and services
- Oversee cloud platforms, enterprise applications, data operations and hardware/software environments
- Manage relationships with IT suppliers, negotiating SLAs and ensuring performance. Procure hardware, software and services in line with strategic needs
- Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations including GDPR and ISO frameworks
- Maintain ownership of IT policies, conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments
- Oversee incident management and ensure timely resolution
- Improve service delivery processes to enhance user experience
- Lead escalation processes and root cause analysis for major issues
- Develop and manage the IT operations budget
Skills & experience required:
- Experience in a similar role
- Proven ability to lead and motivate IT teams / line management experience
- Degree in IT, Communications or related field
- Strong working knowledge of: Windows 11, Microsoft 365 & Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune, Cloud storage systems, Backup technologies, CRM terminologies, Firewalls, routers & switches, Web design & graphic concepts
- Desirable: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience
Salary, hours and company benefits:
- Up to £50,000 based on qualifications and experience
- Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, fully office based in Hove
