Technical Administrator

The Technical Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the Technical Manager and the wider technical team by delivering high-quality administrative and operational assistance. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of FRG’s deployed security and technical systems, including CCTV and related infrastructure.
Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational abilities, and effective collaboration with engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
About the RoleSystem Integrity and Monitoring
- Conduct regular integrity checks on deployed CCTV and associated security systems, identifying and reporting faults or inconsistencies.
- Monitor system performance and ensure all equipment is operating to agreed standards.
- Document findings and escalate technical issues to the Technical Manager or engineers for action.
Work Allocation and Scheduling
- Utilise BigChange software to allocate and manage workstreams for engineers, ensuring jobs are prioritised and completed on time.
- Track job progress and completion reports, ensuring accurate updates in BigChange.
- Liaise with engineers to confirm task requirements and resolve scheduling conflicts.
System Set-Up and Implementation
- Support the set-up, configuration, and deployment of new technical systems in line with company and client requirements.
- Maintain accurate asset and configuration records for all deployed systems.
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance the performance and reliability of systems.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and update technical documentation, logs, and compliance records.
- Assist in compiling reports on system performance, maintenance schedules, and improvement initiatives.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and supplier correspondence related to technical operations.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Technical Manager and technical team as required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within a technical, engineering, or security environment.
- Strong IT skills, with proficiency in BigChange or similar job management software (training can be provided).
- Familiarity with CCTV and security systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with engineers, suppliers, and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
