Technology Manager
We are looking for a dynamic and technically proficient Technology Manager to lead complex projects involving the design and installation of advanced, technology-driven security systems. Responsible for leading complex projects focused on the design and implementation of advanced, technology-driven security systems.
The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a thorough understanding of vendor capabilities, and a strategic approach to delivering customised security solutions aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert pre-sales support, including system design, technical specifications, and cost estimation for CCTV, access control, and intruder detection systems.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams during design and pricing phases to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and within budget.
- Act as a subject matter expert in electronic security systems particularly IP-based CCTV and networked access control, supporting tenders, conducting site surveys, and crafting compelling proposals that drive project success.
About the Role
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the security technology sector.
- Provide pre-sales support to internal teams and external clients, including solution presentations and demonstrations.
- Develop proposals, specifications, and accurate cost estimates for security systems (CCTV, access control, intruder detection).
- Drive revenue growth by converting leads into orders and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Lead technical engagement through qualification, RFI/RFP/BAFO and the internal response negotiation stages.
- Analyse sales performance and support wider business development initiatives within the company selling Integrated Security systems (Hik Vision, Avigilon, Paxton etc).
- Complete Tenders, Surveys and Quotation against client provided specification and/or specifying suitable systems to meet client needs.
Solution Design & Technical Expertise
- Act as a subject matter expert in security system design and vendor/product capabilities.
- Conduct system tenders, site surveys, and develop comprehensive offerings tailored to client requirements.
- Articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with engineering and operations to ensure solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with client needs.
- Gather market intelligence and feedback trends to Senior Leadership Team to help shape product development and market strategies
- Create a close working relationship with the Technical Helpdesk to validate proposed designs, solutions and delivery methods
Project & Budget Management
- Oversee transition from sales to delivery, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong awareness of industry standards, compliance requirements, and emerging security technologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technology sales or engineering, ideally within the security sector.
- Strong knowledge of security technologies including IP CCTV, networked access control, and intruder detection systems.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business, manage client relationships, and close deals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex technical solutions.
- Experience conducting tenders, surveys, and developing tailored client proposals.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance client needs, technical requirements, and budget constraints.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working alongside engineering and technical teams.
