Fletcher George is working with an innovative and growing organisation within the technology and financial services space which is looking to appoint a Systems Accountant to join its specialist team.
This role represents a genuine move away from a traditional finance position and will appeal to someone who has already moved into a systems and analytical role and enjoys using data and technology to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys understanding how businesses operate and translating financial processes into practical solutions whilst working closely with systems, data and business teams. Previous experience of working as a Systems Accountant, Business Analyst of Financial Analyst is preferred.
The Role
Working closely with internal teams and clients you will:
- Gather, analyse and challenge financial and operational requirements
- Support business analysis activity to understand processes and improve system functionality
- Design finance-related processes including posting logic, reporting structures and reconciliation processes
- Work with financial and operational data to identify trends and support decision making
- Support data analysis and reporting initiatives which improve visibility and business performance
- Act as a bridge between finance and technical teams
- Contribute to wider systems and process improvement projects
About You
You may be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified and bring relevant systems and data/ business analytical practical experience.
You are likely to have:
- Experience within finance systems, ERP projects, business analysis or data analysis environments
- Moved away from a traditional accounting or finance role into a more systems and analytical position
- Strong accounting knowledge combined with commercial awareness and analytical thinking
- Experience interpreting financial and operational data to support decision making
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to build relationships across different teams
- Experience within FinTech or the wider financial services sector would be highly beneficial although this is not essential
- This role is not focused on software development or writing code however you will be comfortable understanding and interpreting schemas
- A good understanding of APIs and how systems communicate and exchange data between platforms
- Comfortable acting as the link between finance, systems and technical teams
- A strong appreciation of AI with an interest in how emerging technologies can enhance systems, data analysis and business processes
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required
- Full and current right to work within the UK is required

Being a car owner will be essential for this role. The role is commutable by car along the M40 corridor from Oxford, Reading, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield and Aylesbury
