Interim Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced commercial lawyer to join a lean, high-performing in-house legal team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll work closely with an existing Legal Counsel, providing hands-on, pragmatic support across product, technology, and commercial matters.

This role requires substantial in-house experience within a start-up or scale-up environment.

Key Details:

• Experience: Commercial lawyer.
• Start Date: Mid/end of July.
• Duration: Approximately 6 months.
• Rate: £450 p/d - PAYE
• Working Pattern: Part time, 3 days per week.
• Location: Remote
• Equipment: Provided by the client.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising product, technology and commercial teams on day-to-day legal queries, product development, feature launches and associated risks.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of B2B and B2C agreements, including SaaS contracts, supplier agreements and partnership arrangements.
• Managing GDPR-related queries, supporting privacy risk assessments and advising on data protection compliance across the business.
• Working closely with non-legal stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, commercially-focused legal advice.

Requirements

• 4–7 PQE
• Experience working in a scale-up/start-up environment (essential)
• Strong in-house experience (essential)
• Exposure to product, data, and privacy work
