The Role
We are looking for a high-energy, data-driven Head of Operations, Payment to lead the financial engine of our global Super App. This role is focused on the tactical execution and optimisation of our payment infrastructure. Your mission is two-fold: to build a powerhouse payment ecosystem that resonates with millions of users and to execute aggressive optimisation strategies that convert "transactions" into "seamless user experiences".
The ideal candidate lives and breathes payment orchestration, understands the psychology of checkout conversion, and has a proven track record of managing large-scale financial operations for tech products or digital platforms.
What You'll Own
- Develop and execute payment operations strategies across global markets to drive massive transaction volume and direct App Store/Play Store revenue.
- Lead the creation, documentation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payment processing, reconciliations, and vendor management to ensure consistent execution.
- Lead the end-to-end management of high-impact payment lifecycles (settlements, payouts, and chargeback management) that align with our Super App's multi-service ecosystem (e.g., Finance, Lifestyle, Delivery, etc.).
- Analyse financial KPIs (Success Rates, Transaction Costs, Interchange Fees) to optimize payment performance. You will be responsible for the ROI of the payment-to-settlement conversion funnels.
- Foster loyal relationships with payment gateways, banks, and card schemes through proactive engagement and organizing regular performance reviews.
- Work closely with the Product and Growth teams to align payment methods with new feature launches and seasonal promotions.
What You'll Bring
Must-haves
- 5–8+ years of hands-on experience in payment operations or treasury, preferably within the FinTech, E-commerce, or mobile app industries.
- You must have successful case studies demonstrating significant improvements in payment success rates and measurable spikes in operational efficiency.
- Deep technical knowledge of payment orchestration, card schemes, and alternative payment methods (APMs).
- Strong experience in establishing SOPs and governance models within a fast-scaling tech environment.
- Ability to translate complex financial metrics into actionable business insights for senior leadership.
- A "Super App" moves fast. You need to be comfortable switching gears between different service verticals and global target demographics.
Nice-to-haves
- Background in working with global markets or leading multi-regional payment campaigns.
- Fluency in Chinese is a bonus.
