Cisco IoT Testing & Security Engineer

We are looking for a Cisco IoT Testing and Security Engineer to join one of our clients on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cisco IoT platforms, industrial protocols, and IoT security testing across device, network, and cloud layers and will be leading testing, validation, and security assessments of IoT/OT network solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and validate Cisco IoT devices (IR/IX Routers, gateways, industrial Switches).

• Work with Cisco platforms: Cyber Vision, IOx, Edge Intelligence, IoT Operations Dashboard.

• Perform onboarding, provisioning, firmware upgrades, and stability testing.

• Conduct IoT/OT security tests: firmware analysis, hardware interface testing, protocol fuzzing, wireless security, and network security assessments.

• Evaluate device hardening, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation.

• Produce security reports and support compliance (NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001).

• Collaborate with engineering teams and support customer deployments.

Required Skills

• 4+ years in IoT, OT, or Embedded testing/security.

• Experience with Cisco IoT hardware and software platforms.

• Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, MQTT, CoAP, CAN).

• Hands-on IoT security testing (firmware, UART/JTAG, wireless and network testing).

• Familiarity with OT/ICS security frameworks.

Preferred

• Cisco certifications (Industrial Networking, CCNA/CCNP, DevNet).

• Linux and Scripting (Python, Bash).

• Experience with tools such as Nmap, Burp, Ghidra, Scapy, Wireshark, fuzzers.

• Background in industrial sectors (utilities, manufacturing, energy, transportation).
