Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Packet Core Designer to support the design, development, and optimisation of mobile packet core networks within a telecom environment. The role will focus on architecture, design, and implementation support across EPC/5G Core platforms, ensuring scalable, high-availability mobile data services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mobile packet core network architectures across EPC and/or 5G Core environments.

  • Produce high-level and low-level design documentation (HLD/LLD).

  • Support capacity planning, performance optimisation, and network evolution.

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and vendor teams to deliver packet core solutions.

  • Contribute to integration and migration activities across LTE and 5G networks.

  • Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, and scalability requirements.

  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support during deployment and testing.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Mobile Packet Core technologies (EPC/5G Core).

  • Hands-on knowledge of SGW, PGW, MME, PCRF, UPF, SMF, AMF components.

  • Experience producing network design documentation (HLD/LLD).

  • Understanding of 3GPP standards and mobile data protocols (GTP, Diameter, HTTP/2).

  • Experience working with virtualised/cloud-native telecom infrastructure (NFV, Kubernetes, OpenStack or similar).

  • Strong stakeholder communication and vendor management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with major vendors such as Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or Cisco packet core solutions.

  • Exposure to 5G Standalone (SA) deployments.

  • Experience in CI/CD, automation, or network orchestration environments.

Working Model

  • Hybrid working with regular presence in London.

  • 3-month rolling contract, with potential extension.
