Data Analyst - FinTech (London)

A global payments FinTech is looking to strengthen its Commercial team by hiring a driven and analytical Data Analyst.

This role sits at the intersection of data, technology, and business strategy, transforming complex payments data into actionable insights that support commercial, product, and leadership decision-making.

Role Summary

  • As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with commercial, product, and data teams to analyse payments data, build reporting solutions, and support strategic initiatives.
  • You will help the business better understand customer behaviour, revenue performance, market trends, and operational efficiency.
  • You’ll gain exposure to senior stakeholders while developing strong technical and commercial skills in a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse large volumes of payments data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to support commercial and product decision-making
  • Support the development of data models and structured datasets for analytics and reporting
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into data analysis tasks
  • Assist in maintaining data quality, integrity, and consistency across reporting systems
  • Support ad hoc analysis for commercial strategy, pricing, customer performance, and revenue tracking
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data accessibility and reporting automation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal analytics tools and processes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Recent graduate (or graduating soon) in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis
  • Basic knowledge of Python or R for data analysis (desirable but not essential)
  • Understanding of data visualisation principles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with structured datasets
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain insights to non-technical stakeholders

Compensation:
